a better sidekick?

(x-posted to courtney_beth and the_anti_ron)

Is it just me, or does Ronald Weasley seem like a pathetic excuse for a sidekick? A sidekick is supposed to help the hero in his quest, and unfortunately, Ronald just screws everything up.

IN OOP, Ronald doesn't help Harry at all in the Dept. of Mysteries-- and instead conviently gets himself whacked with a spell, then inflicts pain onto himself by Accio!ing a case of brains toward him.

Who then comes in to save the day: Neville Longbottom.

Neville is the most loyal friend that Harry has, and unfortunately, Harry doesn't realize that Neville would be the ideal friend and sidekick we all want him to have. Nev would die for Harry, protect Harry, and even goes as far to still fight even when he is hurt.

Neville is a hero. Ron is a zero.

::hugs Neville::

Weasley is NOT my king.
